This (July 2024 for July 4 week vacation) was our first time visiting the Keys and we stayed at Duval House B&B on Duval Street. We wanted sushi so we walked maybe a block down the street to this restaurant. but not only did she answer the question but explained the sake production process and sweetness-to-dry differences with a diagram (see the diagram she drew) and poured the nigori sake for us herself - which by the way was delicious! I learned that sake should be consumed soon after being bottled, unlike with wines which should be aged. All the time living in Asia town in Cali, and none of the resturanteers took the time to teach that - but she did! Soon, we got to talking about our trip last month to Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley. During the conversation, the manager unexpectedly poured us a glass of rose wine from Southern France for tasting (see photo added to my Vivino app)! Wow! We learned new wine information specific to French and Argentinian wines, and new wine to add to our tasting list and cellar! We ended up being the last patrons in the restaurant as it was closing. On our way back to Duval House, we stopped at a souvenir shop and realized we left a credit card. We returned to the restaurant, which was closed but had a male employee inside who opened the door and helped us search for the card. He remembered that the manager had put it somewhere and called her - right as she came breathlessly rushing in! It turned out that she had noticed our card lying there after we had left and ran out of the restaurant down the Main Street looking for us in various shops. WOW! I’m certainly grateful and impressed with the customer service as well as the quality of the food and sake, and I recommended that my mother eat there when she vacations in October. I’m just now posting this in September 2024 after getting sick then busy after traveling in July-September 2024.
